Kindly report the accident or theft to the police and obtain a police reference number (AR/CAS number).
 
   
  MOTOR ACCIDENT
 
  Obtain the other drivers details - name, ID number, address, contact telephone numbers, vehicle registration and vehicle details, insurance details, and if the vehicle belongs to someone else, the registered owners full particulars.
   
 

Give your name and details to whoever has reason to ask - NEVER admit that you might have caused the accident. Obtain a quotation for the repairs to your vehicle, together with a copy of the driver's license and ID.
   
  MOTOR THEFT / HIJACKING
 

 

 
  • Provide the original vehicle registration papers. If the vehicle is still under finance, please also provide the final settlement figures.
  • An assessor will be appointed to obtain all the relevant documentation and vehicle keys from the insured.
 
PROPERTY LOSS/DAMAGE
 
 
  • Quotation for replacement of the stolen items and original invoices where possible.
  • Quotation for the repairs to your property and a report indicating the cause of damage.
  • In respect of stolen/lost cell phones, please provide a written confirmation of blacklisting.
 
THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLES
 
 
  • Always keep your doors locked and keep your valuables out of sight.
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • If possible, always remove the face of your radio/tape.
  • Proof of forced entry will be required in the event of a claim being submitted and quotations for replacement.
